Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. Avery Sunshine combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique mixture. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine was born Denise White. While she resides in Atlanta but she is from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her music career by singing and playing the piano in church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she started her journey in music on the Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The first track to have her voice was called Stalk You A Japanese-influenced house 12 song. Since then, it was remixed and now is included in her set. She has also contributed her vocals on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was then hired as the keyboardist principal for Tyler Perry's stage musical Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who performed on stage in the production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007 she was approached by Tyler Perry to be the leader of the choral group for this theatrical production. Sunshine gained national recognition for her four-day performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
